IMPORTANT DATES

The freeze date is the point at which a student’s
enrollment status is locked (or frozen) for financial aid
purposes. The new Freeze date will replace the
terminology of PRD date (Pell Recalculation Date) at
Alamance Community College.

The freeze date is the point at which a student’s
enrollment status is locked (or frozen) for financial aid
purposes. This is the date when the Financial Aid Office
reviews your actual enrollment (classes have officially
begun) for reporting and eligibility purposes. At this
time, credit hours are locked and financial aid is adjusted
based on enrolled credit hours for the term.
F

reeze date example:
For example, if you register for full-time at the beginning
of the term and then drop credits before the freeze date.
Your aid will be adjusted and paid to match the number
of credits you are enrolled in as of the freeze date for the
type(s) of aid awarded.

Credits added AFTER the freeze date cannot be used to
increase your financial aid eligibility.

Below are Freeze

Dropping classes below the number of credits for which
you received financial aid BEFORE the freeze date will
result in a student owing money to the school.
An overpayment in financial aid funds may prevent you
from registering for future classes and prohibit you from
receiving financial aid until the freeze date debt has
been cleared.

Dropping classes after the freeze date may place you in
financial aid warning or suspension at the end of the
term.

Refer to the Satisfactory Academic Progress policy on
the ACC website under Keeping Your Financial Aid.
Adding classes after the freeze date will not increase
your grant aid and you will be billed for additional
tuition charges.

If you have questions on freeze dates and how they
affect you, please contact the Financial Aid Office and
speak to a Specialist.
