Every student at ACC is assigned an academic advisor who is knowledgeable about your program and committed to supporting your success. Meeting with your advisor each semester is essential to ensure you’re choosing the right classes, planning ahead, and making informed decisions about your goals.

Meet With an Advisor
We highly encourage you to schedule an appointment with your assigned advisor. (Your advisor’s appointment link is listed below in their profile.)
Before visiting campus, you can also complete this quick form so our team knows you’re coming and can be ready to support you.
You can meet with an advisor in person, by phone, or through a virtual session (e.g., Zoom)—whatever works best for your schedule.
Walk-In Advising & Registration
Available daily on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please check in at the Admissions Suite in the Student Services Building or at the Front Desk at the Literacy Building when you arrive on campus.
Log in to Watermark: Student Success and Engagement to view your academic advisor and success coach (if applicable) contact information.

You can also find your assigned advisor and their contact information in Self-Service by following these steps:

Log in to Self-Service

Select “Student Planning”
-
Select “Go To Plan & Schedule”

Click on the Advising tab. This will list your advisor’s name and email contact information.
Additionally, you may search for full-time staff and faculty contact information in the ACC Employee Directory.
If you need assistance with registration or academic advising, please note the following:

Walk-in advising/registration is available daily on a first-come, first-served basis. Please check-in at the Admissions Suite in the Student Services Building on campus.

Virtual advising appointments are available on a limited first-come, first-served basis for students who are unable to visit campus. Call 336-532-5022 to schedule a virtual session.
Note: Students must complete the ACC Admissions process before registering for classes. Also, students who will be dual-enrolled high school students for the Fall semester must register for courses through the Career and College Promise office.

Semester Planning Worksheet
Once you have completed the admissions process, talk with your Academic Advisor to select courses for the upcoming term. Once your registration window opens, you can register for courses for the upcoming semester in one of the following ways:
New Students

After corresponding with an Academic Advisor to discuss your program of study, you can register online using Self-Service once you have been advised.

Your Academic Advisor will assist you each semester at ACC.

Attend New Student Orientation if you have not already done so.
Currently Enrolled Students
-
Correspond with your Academic Advisor. You can find your advisor’s name and contact information in your Self-Service account.

Once you have been advised, you should register online using Self-Service.
Make sure that you do not have any registration holds on your student account. Registration holds may include parking fines, Financial Aid charges, book or equipment fines, or other outstanding obligations that will prevent you from registering for courses.
Pay your bill
You can view your account balance and pay your bill—or set up a payment plan—on Self-Service. Payments may also be made at the Cashier’s Office in the Student Success Building (S), top floor.
Purchase your textbooks
Visit the ACC Bookstore to view textbook requirements or purchase your materials.
Schedule adjustments
Changes to your schedule can be made during the advertised final registration period.
Registration dates, including the last dates to drop and add courses, are posted on the campus calendar.
Please make every effort to finalize your schedule before the first day of class.
Dropping a course
To drop a course before the start of the term or during the drop/add period, contact your Advisor.
If you are withdrawing after the 10% point of the class, students must complete the Student Initiated Withdrawal Form.
Check the campus calendar for the last date to drop a course with a “WP” each semester.
Students must complete the ACC Admissions process before registering for classes.
Dual-enrolled high school students (Career & College Promise) must register for courses through the Career and College Promise office.
