Truliant Foundation Invests in Alamance Community College Students with New Workforce Readiness Scholarship

By ACC Newsroom | 11/02/2026

BURLINGTON, N.C. — The Truliant Federal Credit Union Foundation has established the Truliant Federal Credit Union Foundation Workforce Readiness Scholarship at Alamance Community College (ACC), a new scholarship designed to help students pursuing technical careers overcome the financial barriers associated with entering the workforce.

The check presentation took place on October 29, 2026, at Truliant's Burlington branch, located at 2564 Kirkwood Drive. Representatives of the Truliant Foundation presented a $37,500 gift to the Alamance Community College Foundation to establish the scholarship fund. North Carolina Senator Amy Scott Galey was also in attendance for the presentation, joining representatives from Truliant and ACC in celebrating the new partnership and its investment in local students.

The scholarship supports ACC students pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree, certificate, or diploma in a technical career pathway who plan to enter the workforce directly after completing their program. Awards may be used for certification and testing fees, program supplies, textbooks and course materials, and equipment required for a student's program.

“For many of our technical students, the biggest obstacle is not tuition. It is the cost of the tools, supplies, and certification exams they need to finish their program and step into a job,” said Dr. Ken Ingle, President of Alamance Community College. “The Truliant Foundation recognized that gap and made a meaningful investment to help students overcome those barriers. This scholarship will help students cross the finish line and go straight to work in careers our community depends on. We are grateful to Truliant for investing in our students and in the future of Alamance County's workforce.”

The scholarship reflects a shared commitment between Truliant and ACC to strengthening the local economy by preparing skilled workers for in-demand careers.

“At the Truliant Foundation, we believe that investing in workforce education is one of the most meaningful ways we can strengthen the communities we serve,” said Atticus Simpson, Executive Director of the Truliant Foundation and Government Affairs. “Many of our members are hardworking individuals and families whose experiences and aspirations closely reflect those of ACC's students. We understand how important it is to have access to affordable education and the resources needed to build a successful career. Through this scholarship, we hope to remove financial barriers, create opportunities, and help more students and our members enter the workforce prepared to succeed.”
