Associate in Arts – Teacher Preparation
This program provides a solid foundation in general education while also focusing on the specific knowledge and skills necessary for a career in education.
Students in the Associate in Arts – Teacher Preparation program will take a variety of courses in subjects such as English, mathematics, science, social sciences, and humanities. These courses are carefully selected to fulfill the general education requirements of four-year colleges and universities, ensuring a seamless transfer of credits for students who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education or related fields.
Upon completion of the Associate in Arts – Teacher Preparation program, students will be well-prepared to transfer to a four-year institution to complete their bachelor’s degree in education. With this degree, graduates will be equipped to pursue careers as licensed elementary or secondary school teachers, making a positive impact on the lives of students and shaping the future of education.
Associate in Science– Teacher Preparation
This combines a strong foundation in general education with specialized coursework focused on the knowledge and skills required for a successful teaching career.
Students enrolled in the Associate in Science – Teacher Preparation program will engage in a diverse range of courses, including subjects like mathematics, science, social sciences, humanities, and education-related disciplines. These carefully chosen courses fulfill the general education requirements of four-year colleges and universities, ensuring a smooth transition of credits for students who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education or related fields.
Throughout the program, students will explore fundamental principles of teaching and instructional strategies, gain insights into child development and psychology, delve into educational technology, learn effective classroom management techniques, and develop skills in assessment and evaluation methods. Field experiences in local schools will also be provided, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings and acquire practical teaching experience.
