What is Integrated Education Training (IET)?Our IET program, also called co-enrollment, are classes designed to help you gain the skills and credentials needed for jobs. Students attend either High School Equivalency (HSE) Classes to work towards their high school credential or our English as a Second Language classes (ESL) AND a specific workforce training course. You can take classes that improve your language skills or prepare you for the high school equivalency exams, while getting hands-on experience in careers like healthcare, esthetics, HVAC, and biotech. If you want to build a better future by learning a trade and improving your skills at the same time, then the IET program is for you.

CURRENT PROGRAMS
This course introduces students to the basics of caring for animals in a safe and responsible way. Students will learn how to feed, groom, and handle different types of animals. The class also covers topics like animal behavior, health and safety, and common jobs in animal care. Hands-on activities, such as cleaning cages, preparing food, and practicing gentle handling, give students real experience. This course is a great starting point for anyone interested in working with animals in the future. BioWork is a 136-hour non-credit certificate course that can lead to an entry-level position as a process technician in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. BioWork is intended for high school graduates, for those in manufacturing industries who have lost their jobs, and for those who would like to start a new career. Students attend an English support class or high school equivalency class, as well as attending the BioWork class at the same time. ACC offers a co-enrollment esthetics class with hands-on training in Esthetics Technology. Students who complete this 600 hours program will be able to take the state board exam with the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts Examiners and become a licensed Esthetician in North Carolina. Students attend an English support class or high school equivalency class, as well as attending the esthetics technology classes This course teaches safe food preparation and handling practices to help ensure food safety in restaurants and other food service settings. Students will learn key topics such as food safety principles, personal hygiene, temperature control, cleaning and sanitation, and how to prevent cross-contamination. The course includes hands-on activities to reinforce learning. At the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to earn a ServSafe Certification by passing the official exam. ACC has a Saturday English Language Learning class with hands-on HVAC-R training.This program is also offered to our high school equivalency students, who attend the hands-on HVACR training on Saturday, and their HSE class during the week. Students who complete this program will be able to: get a job or promotion in the HVAC-R industry, continue their education, or enjoy learning a new skill for personal enrichment. Opportunities are growing for trained phlebotomists. This course provides theory and clinical experiences needed for the proper collection of blood and other specimens used for diagnostic testing. This hybrid 210 hours/one semester class plus six weeks of clinical time at LapCorp community locations prepares students to enter the healthcare industry. Students attend an English support class or high school equivalency class, as well as attending the phlebotomy course.
