(November 8, 2023)  Two Alamance Community College students have received “People Helping People” scholarships from the NC State Employees Credit Union (SECU). The students were presented with scholarships worth $2,500 each over a two-year period.

Hannah Jordan of Graham is pursuing an Associate in Arts degree with a goal of a career in teaching. Apryl Terrell of Hurdle Mills is pursuing an associate’s degree in biology.

Qualifications for the SECU scholarship include documented need, grade point average, community service, and commitment to ACC for two years. The scholarships are given to two students from each of the state’s 58 community colleges to support two years of schooling. The funding comes from SECU members who contribute a $1 service fee per month on their checking accounts.
