The Alamance Community College Board of Trustees Search Committee has announced that three finalists have been selected in the search for the college’s next president. The search has been underway since August 22 following Dr. Algie Gatewood’s announcement of his retirement effective July 1, after ten years as college president.

General Blake Williams, Chair of the Alamance Community College Board of Trustees, appointed a search committee, which includes Vice Chair Julie Scott Emmons, Dr. Roslyn Crisp, Steve Carter, William Gomory, and Dr. Charles Scott.

Open forums were organized to provide faculty, staff, students, and community members with a platform to voice their perspectives on the essential qualities and attributes they would like to see in the new president. Ultimately, the college received more than 60 applications, that included a deep, qualified, gender and ethically diverse pool. After careful thought and deliberation, the committee narrowed the search to three candidates.
