Types of Financial Aid
There are 5 basic types of Financial Aid
Grants– This includes Federal and State grants. To be considered for any grant you must complete a FAFSA.
Scholarships– There are 2 types of scholarships. ACC Foundation Scholarships are awarded by the school, and outside scholarships, are awarded by an outside organization and the funds are sent to the school.
Veterans Assistance– Alamance Community College is deemed a Military Friendly School by the G.I. Jobs magazine and offers veterans assistance in receiving Educational Benefits while completing an approved degree or diploma.
Loans– Alamance Community College does not participate in the Federal Loan Program. Students needing loans to continue their education are encouraged to apply for scholarships first. If you would like to take out a loan, you may do so through a private lender.
Federal Work-Study– The Federal Work-Study Program is a self-help grant providing students with jobs at Alamance Community College to earn additional income. To be considered for work-study, you must complete a FAFSA.
