NC A&T School of Technology

This articulation agreement is made and entered into by and between North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a public university located in Greensboro, North Carolina (hereinafter “N.C. A&T”) and Alamance Community College, a North Carolina Community College System Institution (hereinafter “ACC”).  N.C. A&T and ACC hereby join in a collaborative effort to facilitate the transfer of students graduating from ACC into the Applied Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, and Graphic Communication Systems Degree Programs at N.C. A&T and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Admissions Requirements: The parties agree that a graduate of ACC with an Associate in Applied Sciences (AAS) in Computer Information Technology with at least a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 based on a 4.0 scale will be admitted to N.C. A&T provided all other conditions are satisfied.

Transfer Requirements: N.C. A&T agrees to accept college transfer coursework completed at ACC as equivalent on a course by course basis. All ACC transfer students may receive up to a maximum of sixty-four (64) semester hours of academic credit for approved courses with a grade of “C” or better earned.

Faculty: ACC courses approved for transfer credit must be taught by faculty who meet the credential requirements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Student Class Status: ACC transfer student class status will be based on the total number of transfer hours.

Associate Degree Completion: Parties at ACC and N.C. A&T shall encourage AAS Degree completion at ACC prior to transferring.  To be eligible for inclusion in this Articulation Agreement, ACC students must competed the AAS degree.  ACC students who transfer prior to completing all AAS Degree requirements will have their coursework evaluated on a course by course basis.

Promotion: Parties at ACC and N.C. A&T shall support and promote this Articulation Agreement on campus through marketing, recruiting, and websites.

Accreditation: ACC and N.C. A&T will ensure that they maintain accreditation with the appropriate regional accrediting agency and ensure that all operations will be in keeping with accreditation requirements of the two institutions.

Official Designees for Articulation Administration: The following representative will jointly administer this Articulation Agreement and will be responsible for the evolution and assessment of this Articulation Agreement between N.C. A&T and ACC.

Agreement Review, Change, and Termination: This Articulation Agreement shall be reviewed at least once every three years, by the designated officials at both institutions and is subject to change by mutual written consent.  Either party may revoke this agreement by written notice to the other party, giving at least one year’s notice of intent to discontinue the agreement. However, it is understood and greed that any student admitted to N.C. A&T under this Articulation Agreement will be allowed to complete the program notwithstanding the termination provision above, so long as such student is in good standing and is making progress toward degree completion.
