ECU Pirate Promise

East Carolina logoThe Pirate Promise Program is a partnership with East Carolina University (ECU) that is designed to improve transfer student access and success.  To be eligible, a student must be enrolled in an Early College, Career and College Promise Program, or, be in their first year of community college enrollment prior to applying for the Pirate Promise.  

Through the program, qualified students enjoy joint academic advising, financial aid counseling and scholarship opportunities, a waived ECU application fee, access to ECU libraries and transit, and more. 

Qualified students receive guaranteed admission to ECU upon completing an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Engineering, Associate in Fine Arts, the Associate in Applied Science (AAS), Early Childhood Education, and, those AAS programs eligible for transfer to ECU’s Bachelor of Science Industrial Technology (BSIT). 

AAS programs eligible for transfer from ACC to ECU through the Pirate Promise Program include:

  • Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology
  • Automotive Systems Technology
  • Biotechnology
  • Computer-Integrated Machining
  • Computer-Aided Drafting Technology
  • Industrial Systems Technology
  • Information Technology
  • Mechanical Drafting Technology
  • Mechatronics Engineering Technology
  • Welding Technology

Students must graduate with a cumulative GPA 2.5 or higher from ACC to be eligible for Pirate Promise.

The Pirate Promise Program does not guarantee admission to a specific major or program.
