Dental Hygiene: University Transfer Option

In order to transfer from ACC into UNC’s Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH) program, you must begin with the Dental Hygiene: University Transfer Option offered by ACC.

About the Dental Hygiene: University Transfer Option

Students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene should complete the Associate in Arts (AA) degree.  The AA will transfer to UNC-Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) and meet the general education requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH) program

Students will need to complete the required prerequisite courses for the BSDH program as part of their degree at ACC before transferring to UNC-CH.  Students, while working with an ACC advisor, should reference the Baccalaureate Degree plans (BDPs) developed by UNC-CH to create their course schedule.

Note: Successful completion of the prerequisites or an AA degree does not guarantee admission to the BSDH program. Students will need to meet the specific program requirements and general education requirements for UNC-Chapel Hill. All interested students should contact the BSDH program to understand program requirements and the requirements to be a competitive candidate.
