What is WiSDEM?

WiSDEM stands for Women in Industrial Science, Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing. WiSDEM is designed to support and empower women who are interested in or already working in industrial fields such as science, design, engineering, and manufacturing.

Annual Girls Take Over Tech Event 2025

Alamance Community College and WiSDEM are proud to present the annual Girls Take Over Tech event!

This event is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in a technical field that is not traditionally employed by people like themselves.

Young females and their families are invited to our state of the art Advanced Applied Technology Center, where they will explore technical programs such as Automotive, HVAC, Welding, Machining, and Mechatronics.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with community members who have taken a similar path and now work in the industry as well as Instructors and Students from ACC Departments.

Join us for an unforgettable night of hands on activities, prizes and giveaways, and connections made to last a lifetime!
