Request Materials From Other Libraries
The library at Alamance Community College lends and borrows books, and obtains copies of articles from libraries throughout the United States. Students, faculty, and staff may request books online that are found in the collections of the North Carolina Community College libraries through the library catalog.
Books not available through the NC Community College combined catalog system may be available through OCLC. This network of libraries covers the United States and beyond. For assistance in requesting materials, contact us at: 336.506.4116, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The library is also in agreement with several area libraries which allows students, faculty, and staff the privilege of borrowing certain items from those libraries in person by presenting their ACC Library card. This agreement is known as TALA (Triad Academic Library Association). In order to borrow items from the TALA libraries, the ACC student, faculty, or staff member must be in good standing with the ACC Library, otherwise they will not be allowed to check out. Good standing means that the patron in question currently has no overdue items, fines, or fees associated with their account. The lending library must first call ACC Library to confirm the status of the patron in question. Lending privileges vary by library and all items must be returned to the lending library.
The following is a list of lending TALA libraries. Click on the name of the library to see a list of privileges that each library offers TALA users. You can even search each library’s catalog by using the link on the left hand side of the page:
