PROGRAM BENEFITS

Mechatronics students learn by doing.

If you have an aptitude for math and science and a passion for working with your hands, the MET curriculum is for you. You’ll get hands-on experience using state-of-the-art mechanical and electrical training systems with pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, conveyor systems and robotic arms.

Starting with basic engineering principles and technical skills, Alamance’s mechatronics curriculum develops your creative and analytical thinking skills to prepare you for a career in industrial maintenance and manufacturing.

The MET curriculum will teach you machine assembly, testing, startup, troubleshooting, repair, process improvement and control systems. The program targets employment opportunities in growing manufacturing facilities. Mechatronics is a growing field: according to Sokanu, a machine-learning database and career site, the mechatronics engineer job is expected to grow by 6.4 percent between 2016 and 2026. Our counselors and faculty advisors are always willing to talk to students interested in pursuing MET.
