Student Conduct

All personnel are responsible for maintaining appropriate discipline on campus and at college-sponsored activities. If an instructor has a problem with a disruptive student, the instructor may ask the student to leave the class. If the student refuses to leave the classroom, the instructor should send another student to the switchboard with a request that security be summoned. If the instructor feels for any reason that further disciplinary action is needed, the instructor must file a written complaint with the Dean of Student Development. Complaint forms, available from the Student Development Office, provide details concerning how the problem can be handled. Procedures for handling formal complaints are outlined in the Alamance Community College Student Handbook which also lists the student’s rights and responsibilities.
