Scholarship Program for Continuing Education Students

State Employees Credit Union Scholarship

The State Employees Credit Union offers a scholarship program for students in continuing education (non-credit) programs that lead to a state-regulated or industry-recognized credential. This scholarship is designed to aid students preparing for employment in fields such as emergency medicine, law enforcement, fire protection, and nursing assistant. Five scholarships in the amount of $750 each will be available every 6 months. Eligible applicants must be a US citizen and NC resident who falls into one of the following target groups: unemployment insurance recipients, unemployed or under-employed adults, military veterans and spouses, or members of the NC National Guard. Golden Leaf Foundation Scholarship

Students attending or planning to attend participating NC community colleges who reside in a NC qualifying county and demonstrate financial need and merit.  Award amount pays up to $250 per semester for occupational education student to be applied toward tuition, fees, books, supplies, and transportation and child care expenses related to attending classes.

Applications for continuing education students do not have a deadline, and should be submitted to Jan Vass at the ACC Dillingham Campus.

ACC Foundation Scholarships

Students enrolling in the ACC Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program, Emergency Medical Services (EMT or Paramedic) program, or Fire Fighter Academy program can apply for ACC Foundation scholarships to assist with the cost of the program (tuition, and/or books and supplies).

Applications for continuing education students do not have a deadline, but students must submit the following to apply for scholarship funds:

  1. FAFSA Application for the current school year. Apply for free on the FAFSA website. Contact the financial aid office at 336-506-4340 if assistance is needed to complete the FAFSA application.
  2. Verify that Admissions has a correct social security number on file. Call Admissions at 336-506-4270.
  3. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students who do not have a GPA yet established with ACC, must submit a high school or college transcript to the Admissions office to verify their GPA.
