The annual Jean Price Slaughter Memorial Scholarship Book Sale is typically held the first Wednesday in March from 8am until 2pm in the area in front of the bookstore.
Jean Slaughter was a member of the ACC English Department and the Coordinator for University Transfer until she died of cancer in 2004. The following year the English Department held a sale to sell many of Jean’s books to raise funds for a University Transfer scholarship in her honor. The sale was so popular that the English department continued the sale by accepting book and movie donations from the ACC community to re-sell.
