Arts & Crafts

Wood Burning

In this class you will get to experience pyrography, the art of burning designs into wood. Learn the various types of basic wood burning techniques, tool care, and safety measures. Learn new skills, discover new techniques, and explore new tools. Instructor will work with each student on an individual basis to customize a simple project. Call 336-506-4149 for more information.

Chair Caning & Basket Weaving

Instruction will be given on the different patterns for Chair Caning based on the wishes of the class. Caning students may choose from 5 different chair caning patterns including Lace, Rush, Binder Cane, Pressed Cane or Shaker Tape. Basket weaving students will learn the basic pattern for a market style basket. Instructor will work with students on an individual level to help them learn new skills and enhance old ones. Floral Design

Students will learn the basics of floral arranging and then design and make their own seasonal floral arrangements. Pottery: Hand Building & Wheel Thrown

Seating is on a first paid, first served basis.  At the end of each class, students will rotate out of the class to allow students on the waitlist to enter.

Quilting, Advanced

Prerequisite: Student must have a working knowledge of quilting techniques. This class is designed for the Intermediate to Advanced student.

It's time to pull out your jelly rolls and fat quarters to make wall quilts or throw quilts. As you sort through your stash, you will be able to arrange your fabric for 3 yard quilts. Sewing is not being offered at this time.

 

 

  

    • Masks or Face Shields are required during class.
    • Seats are on a first paid, first served basis.

    • Makeup sessions - If a student has to miss a day, they need to contact their instructor to see if any of the scheduled classes have an extra seat. Students must have permission to attend any time other than their scheduled dates.  There are no guarantees for available make up dates and there is no partial refund for missed days.
    • NEW STUDENTS:  This class required special tools and equipment (Approximately $120).  This includes all the needed tools as well as glass for the first project. If you are a new student and need to purchase items, please let us know and we can send you a list of materials and equipment you will need.

Stained Glass

This class is for beginners through advanced students and includes instruction on using patterns, cutting glass, grinding and foiling edges, and soldering pieces together. Wood Carving

Students will learn carving techniques and professional finishing touches used to create small figurines. Learn the various types of carving along with basic carving techniques, tool care, and safety measures. Students will learn how to carve projects with interlocking pieces out of one solid piece of wood. Examples include baby rattles, small toys, lamp stands, and chains. *Students are responsible for materials. Cost includes mandatory insurance fee. Students will learn how to design a one of a kind project using the wood lathe and various hand tools. Students will learn the difference between faceplate turning vs spindle turning.
