This course is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the Medical Assisting Profession. Medical assistants work alongside physicians, mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. Emphasis will be placed on the nature of work, working conditions, education/training, certification and employment outlook. Other areas that will be covered include, professionalism, communication, attitude, behaviors, and soft skills. Introduction to Nurse Aide
Intro to Nurse Aide
Nurse Aides are critical health care professionals and the demand continues to grow. This 16-hour class examines the role of a NA and provides an overview of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to secure employment. You will learn about the various roles and settings in which a nurse aid would find employment. The class will focus on the development of a plan to obtain the necessary medical, technical, and soft skills for entry into the field. Introduction to Personal Care Assistant
Intro to Personal Care Assistant
This course provides an introduction to a paraprofessional career in the home health industry as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) also known as home health aide, companion caregiver, companion assistant, etc. The PCA curriculum provides students with an overview of the practical, real-world skills needed to provide non-medical care to the elderly, those with disabilities, and people needing continued non-medical rehabilitation.
