Intro to Digital Health Online

Students will explore the role of social media in healthcare communication, the uses of wearable technologies, the potential for big data to reshape health behaviors, the ethics of personalized medicine, and the impact of these new developments on the doctor-patient relationship. Students will study the types of wearable devices, and sensors patients use and why. As you look to the future of this technology, you will consider the impact of the miniaturization of implantable devices and the challenges around devices’ use of big data on healthcare systems.
