CDL-A
Federal law that went into effect in February 2022 requires everyone seeking a new CDL license to take classroom and driving training through an approved provider. Alamance Community College is now partnering with Cross Country Truck Driving School in Burlington to offer CDL- class A courses. The CDL-A class is 160 hours in length. Classes are offered on a rolling basis with new classes beginning very shortly after the previous one is complete. All classes will be held at the Cross Country Truck Driving School, located at 2609 Tucker St. Burlington.
The cost of the CDL-A course is $2,680. Classes meet from 8am to 5pm. Full-time classes meet Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesdays. Part-time classes meet Saturday and Sunday only.

CDL - B
The cost of the CDL-B course is $1,680. Classes meet from 8am to 4pm for one week. Classes meet Monday through Friday at Cross Country Truck Driving School (2609 Tucker Street, Burlington). There are potentially some need-based scholarships available to help with the cost.

Defensive Driving Classes
Which class should I take?
College staff can not advise students on which class to take. Students should check with their lawyer or the DA's office for to determine which class is needed.

- DDC4 - 4 Hour class: The 4 hour class is designed for low speeds, stop sign and stop light violations. Topics covered include safety belts, child safety regulations, passing safely, the effect of alcohol and drugs on driving and vehicle laws and regulations.

- DDC8 - 8 Hour class: The 8 Hour class is designed for high speeds, speeding in a work zone, speeding in school zone, all other aggressive driving violations and repeat offenders.

DDC 12 Hour Seated Class - Remedial Driver Training

12 Hour
REMEDIAL DRIVER TRAINING
- Customized remedial training for drivers whose actions disregard the safety of others
- Designed by experts in behavior modification and traffic safety
- Participants will teach selections (e.g. Move Over Law, Stopping Distance, Distracted Driving) from the NCDMV Driver Handbook back to the class
- Students are graded on their knowledge, attitude, class participation and presentation of the assignments from the Driver Handbook
- In participating districts, drivers who have previously completed the 8-Hour DDC-Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving course within three years may be referred to this class
- Taught only by experienced law enforcement and education professionals holding National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course certifications

Basic Rider Course (BRC) Schedule & Registration
Basic Rider Course
The Basic Rider Course is aimed at beginning riders of all ages. The course consists a mixture of classroom and range time. Practical riding skills are developed in a controlled, off-street environment. The Basic Rider Course is conducted at a pace that results in successful completion for most novice riders. The Rider Coaches will help you learn to the best of your ability. This course is designed for new riders who have never ridden a motorcycle, and for re -entry riders who have not ridden in a long time. Students that are 16-17 years old must have a signed waiver form completed by a parent or guardian. The course is mandatory for motorcyclists under the age of 18 in the state of NC. Basic Rider Course 2 (Formerly ERC) Schedule & Registration
BRC2
Prerequisite: At least 6 months and and 3,000 miles riding experience
- The BRC2 is for someone who has been riding for a little while. Students must possess a valid motorcycle license/ motorcycle endorsement. Students must provide a street legal, properly licensed motorcycle and must show proof of insurance. Bikes must also pass a safety inspection at class.
- If you normally carry a passenger, you may take the BRC2 with your passenger on board. The Passenger will also need to register and sign the waiver forms.
- Classes will run on Saturdays (Dates to be determined) from 8am - 6pm.
- Location: Dillingham Center, 1304 Plaza Dr., Burlington
- Cost: $80/$30 for passenger. Note: registration is not complete until payment is received.
