Guidelines for HRD Classes
Human Resource Development (HRD) classes can help students enhance their resume, market themselves, and explore a new career. HRD courses provide employability skills training and assistance for adults who are trying to find employment, transitioning back into the workforce, or working to redefine their professional niche in today's global market. HRD courses are FREE to those who meet any one of the following four criteria:
- You are currently unemployed
- You have received notification of a pending layoff
- You are working and eligible for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit
- You are working and earn wages at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines

Employability Skills Lab (Resume, Cover Letter, Job Applications, etc.)
Employability Skills Class and Lab
You will receive assistance with resumes, cover letters, job applications, interviewing techniques, career exploration, job search assistance, and anything else career related. Includes help with basic computer skills, the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), WorkKeys, and the DSS Caseworker career path. Employability skills training is available for unemployed and underemployed adults. NCRC Test & Work Keys Testing
ACC is now an official testing site for the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). The NCRC consists of three skills tests: applied mathematics, reading for information, and locating information. ACC also administers the WorkKeys test prep. See the schedule below for pricing. Once your registration is received (within 24 hours, excluding weekends and holidays), you will receive an email confirmation and a list of available appointment times for testing.

WorkKeys Prep Class for taking the NCRC
WorkKeys is a self-paced skills-based prep class course that prepares the learner to take the NCRC (National Career Readiness Certificate). While the core certificate focuses on Applied Math, Graphic Literacy and Workplace Documents, other areas such as Workplace Observation, Business Writing and Applied Technology, among others, are also available for the learner at their request. To access NCRC scores & certificates:
- Set up an account with ACT National Career Readiness Certificate
- Visit myworkkeys.com or call ACT directly at 1-800-967-5539 to set up the account
- Log in to their account on myworkkeys.com and print off or reference any and all scores and certificates.
