Introduction to Vegetable Production
This course will meet for a period of 12 weeks with 1 hour of instruction online (at your own pace each week) and 2 hours of instruction in-person. In this course you will learn the basics of producing vegetables in central North Carolina. Topics that will be covered are soil health, fertilization, planting, weed management, and many more. During this course, you will have the opportunity to plant and manage course crops at the Bill and Nancy Covington Educational farm.

This is a 12-week program designed to help landscape crew members and/or leaders that are new to the green/horticulture industry. This course will provide an introduction to specific topics related to landscape management, leadership, and also Spanish language training. You will earn a certification upon completion of all sections, Understanding Plants, Horticulture Field Techniques, and Leadership Effectiveness. Hand-Held Equipment Maintenance and Repair
Throughout this course you will be introduced to the basic principles of how 2-stroke engines operate. You will learn safety aspects, preventative maintenance, and repair for a variety of hand-held equipment.
