Men About Business
The Men About Business Program of Alamance Community College strives to promote academic success and retention of minority male students through support that encourages academic excellence, self-esteem, and personal growth.
Program goals and objectives:
- Increase the access and persistence rates of minority males.
- Proactively connect minority males with academic and support resources during their enrollment at Alamance Community College.
- Enhance the college environment creating a culture of success where minority males can develop a sense of belonging and a connection to faculty, staff, and other students.
- Provide an opportunity for college success for all minority males.
- Provide an open forum for minority males to discuss issues and concerns with professional mentors.
- Improve the retention and graduation rates of minority males.
- Enhance communication skills, self-discipline, motivation, and self esteem.

Meeting Time
Once students are assigned a mentor, meetings will take place throughout the semester as needed.
