1. What is new student orientation?

New student orientation is a program designed to prepare new students for their first semester at Alamance Community College.

2. Do I need to RSVP for new student orientation?

Yes. Use the link on the Orientation webpage.

3. What will I do at new student orientation?

At the new student orientation, students will connect with campus resources, meet faculty in their academic programs, and learn to navigate campus facilities and resources.

4. Can parents or family members attend new student orientation with me?

Parents or family members are welcome to attend the orientation session.

5. Where will new student orientation be held?

Orientations are held on the Carrington-Scott campus, except when scheduled to be online. Check-in is located in the Main Building.

6. Is there a fee for attending new student orientation?

There is no fee for attending the new student orientation.

7. Will I be able to meet with an advisor during the new student orientation session?

You will meet your academic advisor and register for classes prior to orientation.

Here is how to find your advisor to schedule your advising meeting:

  • Log in to Self-Service
    • Select “Student Planning”
    • Select “Go to Plan & Schedule”
    • Click on the Advising tab. This will list your advisor’s name and email contact information.
    • Contact your advisor to request an appointment.
