Sandvik Donates 70 Laptops to ACC

(April 17, 2023) – Sandvik Cormorant of Mebane has donated 70 Surface Pro laptops to Alamance Community College as a sign of the continued strong partnership between the school and the global industrial manufacturer.

The net worth of the 70 computers is estimated at approximately $15,000. The laptops, all in good working order, had been retired from Sandvik’s technology stock.

Carolyn Rhode, ACC Foundation Executive Director, and Bettina Akukwe, Apprenticeship Coordinator, facilitated the acceptance of the laptops in coordination with Ricardo Chagas, IT Country Manager Americas for Sandvik,

Said Dr. Lisa Johnson, ACC Vice President of Instruction: “We are grateful to Sandvik for this donation of 70 laptops to the college. We will assess the needs across our institution to determine how the computers will be distributed. This donation emphasizes the strong bond ACC has maintained with Sandvik for many years, from supporting our advanced industrial programs to accepting and training student apprentices.”
