To Our Veterans

(Sept. 21, 2021)

Dear ACC Community,

It has been 37 days since the fall of Kabul, Afghanistan, and the Afghan government’s collapse. Weeks have passed since this tragic event, yet we continue to witness the heartbreaking reality of the killing and destruction of people and institutions, many of which share our core values.offering support for our veterans after the fall of kabul, afghanistan

I want to acknowledge members of our community who have been personally affected by the tragedy occurring in the Middle East. My deepest sympathy goes to those from that region and to our military veterans, active-duty personnel and their families. Your courage, dedication, and honor have not gone unnoticed.

In this moment, we must continue to support those whose lives have been affected by these challenging and painful times. I hope that you can benefit from the many services provided to you by ACC. These include access to a licensed Veterans Center Counselor for confidential counseling, the Mobile Veteran Center, a Veterans Services Advisor/Success Coach, and the Employee Assistance Program.

As a campus community, we have demonstrated our strength and compassion more than ever over the past year. I encourage all of us to continue to lean on each other for support and strength during these extraordinary times.

Sincerely,
