For NC LIVE databases, go to www.nclive.org. Click on ‘Medical and Health,’ then choose your database. NC LIVE databases require a password off campus, which you can get from the library.

To find evidence-based articles:

Go to NC LIVE (www.nclive.org). Under ‘Browse Resources,’ on the left side, click on ‘Medical and Health.’ Choose the ‘CINAHL w/Full Text’ database. Click on the ‘Advanced search’ tab.Uncheck the ‘Suggest subject terms’ box. Put your subject in the ‘Find’ box. Click in the ‘Full text’ box. Scroll down to ‘Special Interest’ (the last box on the page.) In that box, scroll down and click on ‘Evidence Based Practice.’ Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on ‘Search.’


ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source (ProQuest)

Go to NC LIVE (www.nclive.org). Click on ‘Browse Resources,’ then ‘Vendor.’ Choose Proquest Company.


To find evidence-based articles:

Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab. Type your subject in the first search box. Leave the box on the right on ‘Citation and document text.’ In the second box, after the first ‘AND’, type ‘evidence based medicine.’ In the box to the right, choose ‘Subject.’

Limit the results to ‘Full Text Documents Only.’

Click on the ‘Search’ button.
