The LRC (library) has serials (magazines / journals) available for patron use in the following formats:
Hardcopy - The library keeps current issues on the magazine shelves in the public reading area. Back issues are stored in the office area for one year. Users may request a back issue at the circulation desk. Students and community users may use magazines inside the library. Faculty may check out magazines for a class period.
Microform - Issues of magazines older than one year may be stored on microfilm or microfiche. The library has Reader/Printers that enable patrons to read and make copies of articles on microform. Please ask at the circulation desk for help locating and using magazines on microform.
Online - The library has
SIRS a database, and
NCLIVE a collection of databases, that allow patrons to search for magazine, journal, and newspaper articles online. Once found, the articles may be read, e-mailed, printed or downloaded to disks.
When the library does not have the desired article, patrons may want to request an
interlibrary loan
