Full-Time Positions

POSITION:         Instructor, Computer Information Technology

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:                 9 - month contract

SALARY:       Based on College’s salary plan, commensurate with education and

                     work experience.  Starting Salary Range: $4,530 - $5,778/monthly

DATE OF EMPLOYMENT:  January 4, 2010, or as soon as possible thereafter.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Master's degree in computer information technology or computer science, or a master's degree and 18 graduate hours in computer information technology or computer science; work experience in the computer information technology field; one year teaching experience. Preferred: A minimum of two years work experience in the field; teaching experience at the community college level; experience with programming, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and operating systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Teach assigned classes including, but not limited to introduction to computers, introduction to programming and logic, spreadsheets, database and operating system concepts. Serve on college committees, advise students, represent the college in the community and provide assistance in state organizations. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend and online classes.

REQUIRED: Applicants for full-time faculty positions are to submit a statement on their philosophy of teaching and learning as it relates to the community college setting. Applicants called for an interview will be requested to present a fifteen-minute lesson on a subject chosen by the screening committee.

POSITION:         Director of Special Programs (Continuing Education)

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:                 12 - month contract

SALARY:       Based on College’s salary plan, commensurate with education and

                     work experience. Starting Salary Range:  $4,447-$5,381 /monthly

DATE OF EMPLOYMENT:  November 23, 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter pending availability of funds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

(1)     master’s degree

(2)     minimum of three years’ supervisory/administrative experience in education, business, industry, or public service, with a broad knowledge of educational programs

(3)     strong self-initiative and creativity

(4)     strong computer skills

(5)     superior organizational skills

(6)     excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred:

(1)     management experience in the establishment and supervision of educational programs and classes

(2)     community college experience

(3)     Continuing Education experience

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct, administer, and evaluate all of the activities of the Continuing Education Special Programs unit, including direct supervision of the online courses, Bank Teller Training, the Auto Safety & Emissions courses, Auto Dealer, and other programs and courses to be assigned.  This includes hiring and supervising part-time faculty, budget management, the development of new courses and course schedules, marketing, and staff and program evaluation, as well as effective interaction with other divisions and with the larger community both within and outside ACC. The position supervises over 200 courses per year that serve over 3000 students annually.

POSITION:         Dean of Student Development

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:  12-month contract

SALARY:       Based on College’s salary plan, commensurate with education and

work experience.   Starting Salary Range: $5,723-$6,925 /monthly

DATE OF EMPLOYMENT:       January 4, 2010 or as soon as possible pending availability of funds.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Required:  Masters Degree in student services, administration, counseling, or a related field.  Minimum of three years management/supervisory experience, including evaluation and budget oversight, in a student services area such as admissions, records, counseling or financial aid.  Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of ADA, FERPA, and HIPAA.  Good computer skills and interest in technology.  Demonstrated commitment to serving the educational needs of a diverse student population.   Preferred:  Community college experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position provides leadership and supervision for the Student Development Division including: recruitment, admissions, registration and records, counseling, placement testing, career development and job placement, financial aid, academic advising, and student activities.  The dean oversees the division’s planning and evaluation cycle, is responsible for the area’s budgetary process, and ensures that technology needs for the division are communicated.  The dean works closely with both curriculum and continuing education instructional administrators to provide educational support activities and resources.  The dean is the administrative hearing officer for student disciplinary issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Including but not limited to coordinating the functions of a curriculum department, preparing schedules, identifying and assigning teaching responsibilities to full-time and adjunct faculty, appraising performance of teaching faculty, advising students, teaching according to the college load formula, serving college standing and ad hoc committees.

Part-Time Positions

POSITION:         Part – Time Animal Care and Management Instructor

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:    5-month (contract(s) issued based on need)

SALARY:       Based on College’s salary plan and commensurate with education and work experience.

 DATE OF EMPLOYMENT:    January 4, 2010.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Required: Associate’s degree in a related field with at least two years of general animal care, health care, and restraint experience combined. Applicant must be moderately flexible with scheduling.  Preference given to candidates with: instructional background, advanced education and skills related to multiple species care and restraint including avian, reptiles, companion, lab, agricultural, and exotic animals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties include instruction of ACM classes; specifically ACM 110 Introduction to Animal Care & Management, ACM 211 Applied Animal Behavior, and ACM 210 Laws Pertaining to Animals.
