POSITION: Accounting Technician
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, 12 - month contract
SALARY: Based on
College’s salary plan, commensurate with
education and work experience. Starting Salary Range:
$2,743-$3,318 /monthly.
DATE OF EMPLOYMENT:
January 4, 2010 or as soon as
possible thereafter.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should possess a high school
diploma or GED;
supplemented
by college level course work or vocational training in accounting;
supplemented
by 5 months previous experience and/or training involving
accounts
payable and payroll; or any equivalent combination of education,
training,
and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and
abilities
for this job. Candidates should be very comfortable with desk-top computers,
proficient
with Microsoft Office, familiar with computerized accounting systems, and
willing
to assist students and other employees.
Oral
and written communication skills should be strong.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This
position will function as a member of a team performing
accounting
and clerical work in support of the College’s Business Office.
The
Business Office’s responsibilities include but are not limited to payroll,
accounts
payable, account receivable, cash receipting, budget management, and
financial
reporting. Cash handling is required. Working closely with students and
other
College employees this position will execute various processes and will use
computer
and manual systems to enter, retrieve, review, modify, and file data.
Other
tasks will be performed as assigned.
