ACC’s Honor Society Members Win Awards at Regional Conference

 Phi Theta Kappa honor society students at Alamance Community College won 13 regional awards and one international award in March at the annual Carolinas Region Convention in Myrtle Beach, SC where PTK members from across the southeast are recognized for their work and service in 2017.

ACC’s chapter, Alpha Omicron Delta, completed several service projects throughout 2017, including two primary projects: Honors in Action and College Projects. For Honors in Action, the chapter raised $300 to help support the building of a school in Boca Chica, Colombia. For the college project, they raised $78 through a faculty/student basketball game to provide equipment for the campus basketball court.

The 2017 officer team at ACC was comprised of Patrick Sabineza, Ez Perry, Benjamin Page, Alicia Ariel, Jamin Friday, Veronica Wisnewski and Destiny Lujan. Advisors for 2017 were instructors Jame O’Sullivan and Jennifer Jones.
