To save a document as a rich text file
1. Use "Save As"
rather than "Save."
2. Click on the arrow at the bottom of the "Save as" screen
that opens a dropdown box
(called "Save as type" in MSWord and
MSWorks).
3. Scroll down through the items in the list until you find rich
text or RTF.
4. Click on RTF. Notice that your file extension is
.rtf
To find the document later, you
may need to use the drop down box on the "Open" screen (called "files
of type" in Word) to change the files that are visible to All Files.
