Assessment Center provides a variety of testing and other assessment services.
- GED pretesting is administered to those persons seeking a high school equivalency diploma.
- GED tests are available in English, Spanish, or French.
- Curriculum make-up tests are available for students who are referred by the instructor.
- The proctoring of exams from other North Carolina community colleges is available by appointment.
- Placement pre-assessments and ongoing assessments for the various literacy programs are available including: Adult Basic Education, Adult High School, GED, English As a Second Language, Compensatory Education, and Literacy Online.
- Student Success Orientations for new Adult Basic Education students.
Students requiring special assistance or accommodations during testing are required to notify the Assessment Center ahead of time.
Assessment Center hours of operation:
Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon
Curriculum make-up testing:
Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon
