A variety of scholarships are available to students enrolled at ACC. Funding amounts vary from $50 to $600 per year. Many scholarships are awarded on the basis of need, although a number are based on academic performance and/or departmental recommendation. Generally a student can submit just one application and be considered for all campus-based scholarships. The ACC scholarship committee makes selections unless otherwise stated. Funding for scholarships comes mainly from individuals, community organizations, and the ACC Foundation. Changes in funding can occur without notice, therefore the following list of scholarships can and will vary. Students interested in applying for scholarships should contact the Financial Aid office.
1. The Alamance-Caswell Medical Society provides funds to a nursing student each year. Selection is made on academic performance and recommendation of faculty.
2. The Alamance-Caswell Dental Society Scholarship Fund annually provides funds to assist dental assisting students who qualify on the basis of academic promise and performance.
3. The North Carolina Community College System Scholarship fund provides a number of scholarships each year based on demonstrated need. Selection is made by the Alamance Community College Scholarship Committee.
4. Wachovia Technical Scholarships are provided annually to students enrolled in technology-related programs. They are based on need and academic performance. A special committee selects two recipients each year.
5. The President's Academic Scholarship is awarded each year to one graduate from each local high school planning to attend Alamance Community College. Selection is made based on academic performance and counselor recommendation.
6. BellSouth of North Carolina provides scholarships to two students based on need and academic merit.
7. Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings, Inc. provides scholarships for students enrolled in Medical Laboratory Technology. The Alamance Community College Scholarship Committee makes selections based on need and academic performance.
8. The William E. Taylor Scholarship is awarded to a student each year entering into a two-year degree program. The recipient must be an Alamance County native.
9. The Deniese Parrish Scholarship is awarded to a student in the Office Systems Technology program based on academic performance and need.
10. Carolina Biological Supply provides a scholarship to a student in the Biotechnology program based on need and academic performance.
11. Altrusa Club of Burlington offers a scholarship to a student based on need and academic promise.
12. Branch Banking & Trust provides a scholarship for a student based on need and academic performance.
13. Cone Mills, Inc. provides scholarships annually to children of employees. The student submits applications directly to Cone Mills. Their committee makes selection.
14. The Homebuilders Scholarship is awarded annually to a student in a program related to the building industry.
15. The McIntyre Scholarship is awarded to an Alamance County resident based on need. The Alamance Community College scholarship committee makes selections.
16. The Nellie Lee Pittman Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a nursing student who is head of the household. The scholarship committee, based on recommendation from the nursing faculty, makes the selection.
17. William R. Hupman Scholarships are awarded on a yearly basis to four students from Alamance or Orange counties who are enrolled on a full-time basis. Selection is based on academic performance and proven leadership experience.
18. The Rudy Smith Scholarship is available to students enrolled in the Industrial Maintenance curriculum. Selection is based primarily on academic performance.
19. The Vic Chisholm Scholarship is a $500 award made to an Alamance County resident enrolled full-time in the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration curriculum. Selection is based on academic achievement and faculty recommendation.
20. The Alamance County Voiture Locale 1237, Forty & Eight, offers four $100 scholarships for nursing students. The ACC scholarship committee makes recommendations.
21. The Fel-Pro Automotive Scholarship is available to full-time students in the automotive curriculum. A Fel-Pro committee makes selections.
22. Presidential Technical Merit Scholarships are awarded each year to students from local high schools that plan to enroll in technical/vocational curricula at ACC. Selection is based on academic performance and counselor recommendation.
23. The Jennings Bryan Scholarship is provided on a yearly basis to a Business Administration student with exemplary academic record.
24. The Mildred Davis Scholarship is a $50 award made to students enrolled in the culinary curriculum. Selection is made on the basis of faculty recommendation.
25. The J. Nimrod Harris Scholarship is provided on a yearly basis to a student with an exemplary academic record.
26. The Sarah Rhyne Scholarship is provided on a yearly basis to a student with an exemplary academic record.
27. Nurse Scholars Program: The State of North Carolina offers $3,000 scholarship/loans to eligible first-year nursing students. Applications are available in the Financial Aid office.
28. Nurse Education Scholarship Loan Program: The State of North Carolina offers scholarship/loans to fully accepted nursing students with established need.
29. Foundation Scholarship: The Alamance Community College Foundation provides funds for twenty (20) $600 scholarships, which are awarded to full-time students with established need. The ACC scholarship committee makes selections.
30. Special Foundation Scholarships: The Alamance Community College Foundation provides scholarship money to part-time (enrolled 6-11 hours) students with established need. Amounts may vary.
31. The Louise Heckman Scholarship is a $500 award made to a first-year Associate Degree Nursing student attending full time. Selection is based on academic performance.
32. The Chacey Memorial Scholarship is provided on a yearly basis to a full-time student. The ACC scholarship committee selects the recipient on the basis of need.
33. The Saturday Morning Breakfast Club Scholarship is awarded on a yearly basis to a full-time student enrolled in the Horticulture Technology curriculum. Selection is based on departmental recommendation.
34. The Jack 0'Kelly/Sertoma Scholarship is awarded on a yearly basis to a full-time student. The ACC scholarship committee selects the recipient on the basis of need.
35. The Graham Rotary Club Scholarship is awarded on a yearly basis to a full-time student with an exemplary academic record. A special committee makes the selection.
36. The Alamance Beautiful Scholarship is awarded on a yearly basis to a full-time student enrolled in the Horticulture Technology curriculum. Selection is based on a departmental recommendation.
37. The Jim Galbraith Scholarship is a $125 award given to a full-time student with an established need. Selection is made by the ACC scholarship committee.
38. The James E. Peeples Scholarship is a $500 award given to a full-time student in the Electronics Technology curriculum. Selection is made based on faculty recommendation.
39. The Women's Hospital of Greensboro has annually provided five $500 scholarships to full-time students enrolled in the Associate degree Nursing curriculum. Selection is made based on need and faculty recommendation.
40. The Alma T. Robinson Scholarship is a $300 award made to a student in the Human Services Division. Selection is based primarily on need.
41. The Robert Holt Scholarship is a $400 award made to a full-time student. Selection is based primarily on need.
42. The Jake King Scholarship is a $500 award made to a full-time student enrolled in the Automotive Systems Technology curriculum. Selection is based on academic performance and faculty recommendation.
43. The Mayor Troy Woodard Scholarship is a $300 award made to an Alamance County resident enrolled full-time in the Associate in Arts (college transfer program). Selection is based primarily on academic performance. Applicants must have graduated from an Alamance County high school.
44. The Graham Lions Club offers scholarship assistance to visually impaired students who are maintaining satisfactory grades and have need.
45. The Maurice Jennings Scholarship is a $300 award. Selection is based on academic performance.
46. The Elwood Prater scholarship provides assistance to students enrolled in the Business Technologies Division. Awards are made based on academic performance and the recommendation of faculty. To be eligible one must reside in Alamance County.
47. North Carolina Society of Medical Assistants awards scholarships of up to $500 to students based on need, academic performance, and faculty recommendation.
48. The Audrey McBane Scholarship is awarded to a nursing student each year. Selection is based on academic performance and need.
49. The Youth Friends Association offers a $500 scholarship to a student enrolled in the Industrial Maintenance program. Selection is based on academic performance and need.
50. The Lennie Stout Scholarship provides funds to a student based on academic performance and the recommendation of faculty.
51. The L.P. Best Scholarship is a $500 award available to students with a documented need. Candidates must reside within 25 miles of the ACC campus.
52. The Burlington Women's Club offers a scholarship to a student who is head of household and has a documented financial need.
53. The Business and Professional Women's Club offers a $200 scholarship to a student who is a single parent.
54. The Alamance County Chamber of Commerce Women's Division offers a $500 scholarship to a single parent with financial need.
55. The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship is a $300 award available to a student with high GPA who is actively participating in campus activities.
56. The Walter B. Ellis (Post 63) of the American Legion offers a $100 scholarship to one graduate of each of the area high schools.
57. The John W. and Pete Jones Memorial Scholarship Endowment will fund two scholarships to seniors from Western Alamance High School in the fields of cosmetology and industrial technology.

Various community clubs and organizations provide other scholarships periodically. When available, these funds are awarded to students on the basis of need and/or performance. The applicant must follow normal procedures for applying for financial aid. Scholarships do not require repayment.
